In an effort to promote environmental awareness and sustainability, the environment youth defenders conducted an awareness activity at Libala secondary school.
With a total of 20 passionate children about the environment. The awareness activity aimed to educate the students and the wider community about the detrimental effects of plastic pollution, while highlighting the importance of the three R’s: reuse, reduce, and recycle.
Furthermore, the youth programs manager highlighted the importance of recycling as a means to tackle plastic pollution. She emphasized that the students organize recycling programs within the school, she encouraged the students to collect and properly dispose of recyclable materials. The students were also encouraged to educate their peers on the different types of plastics and how to segregate them for efficient recycling processes. By instilling a sense of responsibility and active participation, the youth environmental defenders aimed to cultivate a culture of recycling within the school community.
The Think Environment Campaign serves as an inspiring example of youth-driven initiatives aimed at protecting and promoting sustainable practices. Through education, creativity, and advocacy, these dedicated students have raised awareness, inspired change, and paved the way for a greener future. As the campaign continues to gain momentum, the efforts will undoubtedly contribute to the global movement towards a cleaner, healthier planet.
