Alkas Christian Academy
On September 15, 2023, the Think Environment Campaign held an educational session at Alkas Christian Academy in 6 miles, attended by 40 students from grades 5 to 7.
The session, led by Ms. Dalitso Mvula, the Youth Programs Manager, began with a discussion on unusual weather patterns and seamlessly transitioned into the topic of climate change. The students actively engaged in identifying its causes, including deforestation and waste burning, while also learning about the ozone layer’s role.
The effects of climate change were discussed, along with potential solutions such as tree planting and waste reduction through recycling. The session concluded with an energizer and spelling activity. Importantly, the school director expressed interest in further collaboration, highlighting the success of this informative and engaging initiative in fostering environmental awareness and stewardship among the students.
