Participatory Development of an Integrated Landscape Management Concept and Its Implementation in Zambia: 2024 - 2025

Project Summary
The ” Participatory Development of an Integrated Landscape Management Concept and Its Implementation in Zambia” project aims to enhance sustainable land and resource management through a coordinated, participatory approach. Led by Caritas Czech Republic in partnership with CzechGlobe and the Centre for Environment Justice (CEJ), the project seeks to integrate ILM principles into Zambia’s national policies, legal frameworks, and development strategies. Through multi-stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and institutional capacity-building, the project will develop a comprehensive ILM Concept that promotes environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture, and climate resilience. By fostering collaboration among government agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs), and local communities, the initiative will contribute to improved governance and decision-making processes in landscape management.
Project Aim
The project aims to develop and implement a national ILM Concept that strengthens policy integration, institutional coordination, and stakeholder participation in sustainable land management. By identifying gaps in existing policies, enhancing technical capacity, and promoting cross-sectoral collaboration, the initiative will ensure that ILM principles are mainstreamed into Zambia’s governance framework. This will help address environmental degradation, promote responsible land use, and improve socio-economic resilience in communities reliant on natural resources.
